"Physical and biomedical foundations of metrological providing
for noninvasive medical spectrophotometric methods and equipment"
(May 2008 - December 2010)
Abstract
This fundamental research Project is directed in metrology of noninvasive medical spectrophotometry (NMS) apparatus, systems and technique. It is proposed the investigations of main physical and biomedical factors and phenomena which are sources and causes for random and systematic errors in NMS, instrumentation errors, errors of methods, etc. This project has a final aim: development and creation of scientific and engineering foundation of organization and functioning of metrological providing for the NMS. The full-page final report can be loaded here (2.5Mb, Russian version only, sorry). In the presented final scientific report the basic results of the fundamental research executed by team of the project in 2008-2010 at "MONIKI" named after M.F.Vladimirskiy on the problems of metrological aspects of methods and devices of noninvasive medical spectrophotometry (NMS) are reflected. During the project the accessible literary data on the problems of informativeness, accuracy and reproducibility of results of measurements in NMS was generalized and analyzed. The general principles of construction of working imitating measures (WIM) modeling optical properties of live biological tissues in their various functional conditions were developed. Laboratory samples of WIM, stable and easily reproduced on their optical properties, were developed and created. On the basis of created WIM reached levels and physico-technical sources of errors of diagnostics for different diagnostic methods and devices of NMS were investigated in a laboratory. The exact definition and the theoretical model describing the phenomenon of diagnostic volume in NMS are offered. Experimental studying of medical and biologic sources of errors and reached levels of errors (both instrumental and methodical) for different diagnostic devices and methods of NMS was executed in natural conditions of carrying out of diagnostic procedures in different clinics of "MONIKI" with participation of voluntary healthy examinees and examinees with various nosological forms of diseases from among patients of "MONIKI". Additional researches on contrasting and detection of endogenous fluorochromes in tissues were spent with use of small laboratory animals (white mice and rats of a line «Wistar») in the vivariums of "MONIKI". As a result of researches all basic physico-technical as well as both medical and biologic factors and the phenomena most strongly influencing on accuracy and reproducibility of results of diagnostics are revealed and formulated. Offers on harmonization of conceptually-terminological basis in NMS are formulated. Base system principles of the complex organization of metrological maintenance of methods and devices in NMS are developed.
